God, wasn’t life an experience back in the 80’s and 90’s? You were forced to get out there and talk to people and that’s when you met the best people in your life! The memories… I’m sad to age, yet so grateful that I was young when I was meant to be. Today, these younger people could be best friends with AI. Video games of killing and everyone too engrossed at looking at their cellphones than having real conversations. I see people like you comment and it makes me smile and not feel so alone in my own thoughts, dreaming that I could go back 35 years and experience this era again. Those memories of the fleeting optimism and belief in change are bittersweet but still so strong. What a perfect song.
Ignorant optimism is the only reason all the humans on Earth don’t commit mass suicide.
Yeah it gives quite a bit of frustration on all the chances we missed as human kind since then and all the problems we created.
But also gives resolve to look forward face the future and fight for a better tomorrow!

I saw the Berlin Wall come down on TV in 1989. I had just turned 12 on Nov 3. It was one of the most significant moments in world history I would later learn. It led to the collapse and splinter of the mighty USSR.
Over a year later, this masterpiece gets released by the legendary Scorpions. We couldn’t get enough of it. It was a great time to be alive.

I was 9 at the time and then the communist block fell apart and we all thought the world could only be better and better and now here we stand with threats about world war 3 and all kinds of madness. Crazy
I was in Germany when this happened. It was right around the fall of the Soviet Union… both were world shaking days. For what seemed like an eternity, nobody knew who was in charge of the Russian armed forces or their nuclear arsenal
I had a piece of the wall my parents got from Germany.

The first time I have heard the song Wind Of Change by Scorpions was on September 24, 2005 and I first heard the song Wind Of Change by Scorpions at a Quinceañera and Wind Of Change was the second song I have heard by Scorpions.
I served in Germany when the Berlin wall came down. I remember when this song was released and I was looking out the window one snowy night thinking life will never be the same……
